What is Meanwhile Pro?
Meanwhile is free to download and use, with no ads and no account. Meanwhile Pro is an optional purchase that unlocks:
- Changing paper and film after a photo is taken
- Editing imprint fields
- Choosing the key photo of a motion capture
- Adding or changing handwriting, personal signatures and drawn stamps
- Hiding the Meanwhile wordmark
- Exporting mini books, accordion books, photo grids and postcards as PDFs, tall images or videos
It comes in two forms:
- Meanwhile Pro Annual — an auto-renewing yearly subscription, with no free trial.
- Meanwhile Pro Lifetime — a one-time purchase that unlocks the same features for good.
How do I restore Meanwhile Pro?
Open Settings inside Meanwhile and tap Restore Purchases. You'll also find Restore Purchases at the bottom of the Meanwhile Pro purchase screen. Make sure you're signed in to the store with the same Apple ID (or Google account) used for the original purchase. Restoring is free and does not charge you again.
I bought Meanwhile Pro but the features aren't unlocked
First try Restore Purchases (see above). If Meanwhile Pro still isn't active after restoring, email us your store purchase receipt and we'll sort it out.
How do I cancel my annual subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by the app store, not inside Meanwhile. On iOS, open your Apple ID's Subscriptions page in the Settings app. On Android, open Google Play > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription.
What happens when my annual Pro subscription ends?
Your photos and saved edits remain, and saved photos can still be exported unchanged. New Pro edits and project exports require active Pro access. Buying Lifetime does not automatically cancel an existing annual subscription; manage it through your app store.
Can I use Meanwhile without internet access?
Yes, mostly. Photo capture, local editing, collections and file exports work offline. Automatic place-name lookup may require internet access. Purchases and restoration also need a store connection. Meanwhile never asks you to sign in or create an account.
Are both cameras always captured simultaneously?
Simultaneous capture depends on device support. On devices that can't run both cameras at once, Meanwhile captures them one after the other instead. Live previews and motion capabilities can also vary by device.
Can I recover deleted photos or restore my library through Restore Purchases?
Deleted photos can be recovered from Recently Deleted for up to 30 days, unless you permanently delete them. Copies already saved to your system photo library aren't affected. Restore Purchases restores Pro access only, not photos or projects: Meanwhile has no cloud library to restore from.
The app won't open or crashes
- Make sure Meanwhile is updated to the latest version.
- Restart your device and reopen the app.
- Check that you have enough free storage space.
- If it persists, email us your device model and OS version.
How do I delete my data?
Meanwhile stores your photos, videos, edits and collections on your device only — there's no account and we don't collect or store your data on our servers. Uninstalling Meanwhile permanently removes all of its data from your device. Photos and files you've already exported to your photo library or Files stay there until you delete them yourself.
