Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains what information QuantumCola ("we", "us") collects when you use our mobile apps and games available on the App Store and Google Play, and how that information is used.
In short: most of our apps and games work fully offline and collect no personal data at all. Apps that show ads use Google AdMob, which collects some device information to serve those ads, as described below.
2. Apps and Games Without Ads
The following apps and games contain no ads, no analytics service operated by us and no third-party advertising trackers:
- Orbit
- Gloaming
- Second Sense
- Meanwhile: Duo Camera (see section 4 for how it looks up place names)
- KCOLC CLOCK: In Reverse (see below for purchase diagnostics and website links)
They do not require an account and do not send your data to us. Apart from the place-name lookup in Meanwhile described in section 4, Google Play Billing in Meanwhile and KCOLC CLOCK: In Reverse described in section 5, and the website links described below, they do not send your data to anyone else. Your settings, progress and content are stored only on your device, and are permanently removed when you uninstall the app.
KCOLC CLOCK: In Reverse. KCOLC stores your clock design and its options, your time-format, Keep Awake and clockwise preferences, whether its first-run hint has been shown, and which purchases you have unlocked, all on your device only. On Android, it uses Google Play Billing for purchases, which also sends billing diagnostics to Google (see In-App Purchases below). KCOLC also links to our support, privacy and terms pages; if you open one, your browser sends an ordinary web request to our website, which includes your IP address. The app itself does not send your settings to us or to anyone else.
3. Apps and Games With Ads
The following apps and games show ads:
- Meow Tile Match
Ads are provided by Google AdMob. To show, measure and limit ads, and to prevent fraud, AdMob may collect information from your device, such as:
- Device advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android)
- IP address and approximate location derived from it
- Device model, operating system and app information
- Ad interactions, such as ads viewed or tapped
This information is collected and processed by Google, not by us. On iOS, the advertising identifier is only available if you allow tracking when the App Tracking Transparency prompt appears. On both platforms you can reset your advertising identifier or opt out of personalized ads in your device settings. You can learn more in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
Game progress in these apps is stored only on your device. We do not run our own servers for them and do not receive your personal data.
4. Meanwhile: Duo Camera
Meanwhile is a camera app. Your photos, videos, recorded audio, handwriting, signatures and stamps are processed on your device. Meanwhile has no automatic upload service, no cloud sync, no ads, no analytics service operated by us and no third-party crash-reporting SDK. On Android, Google Play Billing sends operational data to Google as described in section 5.
Place names. If you allow location access, Meanwhile sends your device's coordinates and your preferred language to a geocoding service to look up the name of the place where a photo was taken. On iOS this is Apple's geocoding service; on Android it is the geocoding provider built into your device's operating system. The app does not send this information to us. You can use Meanwhile without location access; photos will then have no place name. Learn more in the Apple Privacy Policy and, for Android devices that use Google's provider, the Google Privacy Policy.
On Android, the location sent for this lookup may be approximate or precise, depending on the permission you grant. It is used to provide the place-name feature. You can stop future lookups by turning off Meanwhile's location permission in system settings. The provider's own privacy policy governs its handling and retention of lookup requests; we do not receive those requests or control the provider's records.
Stored on your device. Meanwhile stores the following locally:
- Original front and rear photos, motion clips, recorded video and audio, thumbnails and files waiting to be saved or exported
- Capture dates, place names and coordinates (where available), framing, layouts, paper and film choices, motion key-photo selections and saved edits
- Handwritten notes, edited imprint text, personal signatures and drawn stamps
- Collections and their names, favorites, project drafts, and recently deleted photos, which are kept for up to 30 days
- Language, camera and export preferences, permission-prompt flags and purchase status
On Android, Meanwhile's data is excluded from Android app backup. Uninstalling Meanwhile removes this data from your device. Photos and files you have exported to your photo library or to Files stay there until you delete them.
Sharing. When you share a photo or project, Meanwhile sends the export you selected to the destination you choose, such as a messaging app. What happens to it there is governed by that destination's own privacy policy.
Libraries. On iOS, Meanwhile uses only Apple's system frameworks. On Android, it uses Google Play Billing for purchases (see section 5) and open-source libraries that run entirely on your device: AndroidX (including CameraX and Jetpack Compose), JCodec for video encoding, and the Kotlin runtime and libraries. These libraries do not send data anywhere.
5. In-App Purchases
Some of our apps offer optional in-app purchases, including one-time purchases and, in some apps, auto-renewing subscriptions. Payments are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never receive your payment details. The store only tells the app which items you have bought or subscribed to, so that they can be unlocked and restored; purchases are verified through the store's own system, without any server run by us. Subscriptions are managed and cancelled in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
Google Play Billing on Android. In Meanwhile and KCOLC CLOCK: In Reverse, the Billing library also automatically sends operational records to Google when it connects to the store. These can include Billing operation types, results, durations and diagnostic details, the app package and version, Android and device/build information, and a BillingClient session identifier. Google uses this information to operate, diagnose and improve its Billing service. These operational records do not require you to make a purchase. Purchase records are processed when you choose to buy or restore an item. This information is collected and processed by Google, not by us, as described in the Google Privacy Policy.
The Billing library does not receive your photos, recordings, handwriting or projects from Meanwhile. We do not add advertising identifiers or use Billing records for advertising. Google's own controls and privacy policy apply to data it holds; we cannot directly delete Google's service records.
6. When You Contact Us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message, such as your device model or a purchase receipt. We use this only to respond to you and resolve your request. We keep it only as long as needed for that purpose, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
7. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. Apart from Google AdMob in apps that show ads, the place-name lookup in Meanwhile, and the operational records Google Play Billing sends to Google in Meanwhile and KCOLC CLOCK: In Reverse, as described above, we do not share information with third parties, except where required by law.
8. Children's Privacy
Meanwhile: Duo Camera is a general-audience camera app suitable for all ages; it is not designed exclusively for children and has no minimum age of 13 imposed by us. Its data practices are described in sections 4 and 5 and apply to all users. Parents or guardians can manage the app's camera, microphone and location permissions through the device's system settings and use the store's family purchase controls.
Our other apps and games are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, or to object to its processing. Because our apps keep data on your device, uninstalling an app removes its data. For any other request, email us at the address below. For data collected by Google AdMob, you can also use Google's own controls described in section 3.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example when we release a new app or add a new service to an existing app. Any changes will be posted on this page.
